360° assessment coaching©
360 degree assessments provide multi-source feedback from direct reports, peers, colleagues and line managers. Used effectively, this feedback can provide individuals with a basis for a personal and professional development plan. However feedback alone will not ensure that individuals capitalise on the development opportunity.
We resolved this by developing 360 degree assessment coaching - a short programme which converts 360 degree feedback into individual action plans and which can be added to any internal 360 degree assessment process.
In practice, it consists of two post assessment coaching sessions. During the first session the coach will discuss the feedback with the individual to ensure that it is an accurate representation of their performance. They will also help to highlight key messages within the feedback (both positive and negative) and act as an independent “sounding board” for any issues that arise. The coach will then produce a short summary of the session and send it to the individual to review.
In the second session, the individual and the coach work together to create an action plan for the future in the form of a simple list of objectives.
As 360 degree assessment coaching consists of only two coaching sessions it is a fast and cost effective way of ensuring that organisations get the most out of their 360 degree assessment process.
